Leaf scorch (Peyronellaea curtisii). is a fungus that affects members of the daffodil family. The fungus causes small dot-shaped infestations in the tips of sprouting leaves. Red discolorations appear around the affected areas, the leaves yellow, turn brown and die. Minimal mold spots appear on the leaves. Brown spots develop on flowers and stems.
The fungus thrives in cold and damp weather. The fungus spreads through spores.

Control

Peel off affected bulbs down to the healthy tissue and soak for an hour in Dettol; use the strength as recommended for disinfecting wounds.

Prevention

Do not water bulbous plants indoors when it is cold and damp inside.
