The Bean weevil belongs to the leaf beetles.
Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus) belongs to the leaf beetles. These + 3 mm small black/brown beetles attack the seeds (beans) of leguminous plants, including peas, broad beans, chickpeas and lentils.
Both fresh and dried beans are affected.

Control
Hold a bucket under the plants and shake the plants: the weevils are startled and drop into the bucket.
Prevention
Parasitoid wasps hunt bean weevils.
